Green Goddess Smoothie

Whether you choose to have this as a breakfast or a snack it really is such a nourishing and tasty option and the perfect way to flood your wonderful bod with all of the nutrients and vitamins that it needs to feel awesome. Love your body and it will love you back. If you are new to healthy eating then a great place to start is to add a couple of green smoothies in to your diet each week. The reason they are so good is because you can cram about 5 different fruits or veg in to one smoothie (remember the emphasis is on veg here as too much fruit can be too high in sugar). All these veggies contain wonderful phytonutrients that we need to protect us from disease, boost our immune system and to feel full of energy.

It’s also a winner because it only takes 5 minutes to prepare. So if time is of the essence then a smoothie ought to be your new best friend.

So why are the ingredients fit for a goddess I hear you say?! Avocados are a great skin food because they contain high levels of vitamin E which is an essential antioxidant required for a glowing complexion. They also make this smoothie super smooth and silky. The brazil nuts are a wonderful source of selenium which is another potent antioxidant that is essential for fighting off free radicals, great for anti-aging and for optimal thyroid function. The coconut oil contains essential fat that our cells need to remain flexible and healthy. Medium chain triglycerides found in coconut oil also help us to burn fat! Cucumbers contains silica which is essential for youthful looking skin and reduction of wrinkles.

Try to make sure at very least the fresh ingredients for this smoothie are organic otherwise you will be exposing your body to a whole host of pesticides and herbicides that are all damaging endocrine disrupting nasties that nobody needs.

If this is your first time making a smoothie, then waste no more time! Get that blender out and your body will thank you for it.
